Charlie Hunnam has revealed that he dropped out of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' after he had a "nervous breakdown".

The 34-year-old 'Sons of Anarchy' star explained that he decided to opt out of the erotic film after suffering a "nervous breakdown" and added that it was a "really difficult time" in his life, Fox News reported.

He confessed that his packed schedule didn't allow him to take out the time needed to transition from his TV series character to Christian Grey.

The American television drama series created by Kurt Sutter was wrapping up production later than expected, and Hunnam was scheduled to work on Guillermo del Toro's 'Crimson Peak', followed by 'Fifty Shades of Grey', which created a lot of pressure on him and forced him to make the major decision of dropping it.

However, he admitted that he loved the character and wanted to do it, and giving it up was "painful".
