Chennaiyin hold Blasters to 1-1 draw in ISL clash
Chennaiyin FC and Kerala Blasters played out a 1-1 draw in their Indian Super League clash at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Saturday.
Brazilian professional Elano Blumer put the tourists ahead with a clinical spot-kick in the 34th minute, but a rejuvenated Blasters came back strongly in the second half as they restored parity through Chris Dagnall's equaliser 15 seconds after the break.
Although Blasters had a golden chance to secure the lead when they won a penalty in the 52nd minute, Chennaiyin goalkeeper Karanjit Singh made a brilliant save by thwarting Josu Prieto's low attempt.
With the result, Chennaiyin are fifth while Blasters are languishing down at eighth in the points table.
