Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday announced that the amount of loan waiver, under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Sanman Yojana, will be deposited directly in farmer's bank account.
The disbursement process of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Sanman Yojana's benefits will start from October 18, he added.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had said that the loan waiver scheme will benefit around 89 lakh farmers in the state and will make around 40 lakh debt-free. The decision was ratified by the Cabinet.
The scheme aims to benefit debt-ridden farmers and small and marginal ones entirely.
However, those who have an income of more than 10 lakhs per annum will not be benefited in this loan waiving scheme.
