Chhattisgarh police asks martyred SPO's family to return amount given for his last rites

The Chhattisgarh police has issued a notice to the family of Special Police Officer (SPO) Kishore Pandey, who was martyred while fighting with Maoists in Gariaband district, to pay back Rs. 10,000 given for his last rites.

"In 2011, SPO Kishore Pandey was martyred. We payed Rs 10,000 for his last rite and have now issued a notice for its return," said Abhishek Pathak, Superintendent of Police.

According to reports, the money was used from the Police welfare fund.
