Claiming that the per capita income of Haryana is the highest in the country, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here on Saturday that such prosperity in the state is due to the nine-and-a-half-years of development work carried out by his government.
"I want to tell Prime Minister Narendra Modi that per capita income of Haryana is Rs.1, 35,000 which is the highest in the country. We have worked towards betterment of people of all classes," said Hooda while addressing a public gathering here ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in October.
He also expressed confidence that the people of Haryana will again re-elect his party to power to carry forward the development achieved since 2004-05
"Tactically, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can never be a party of farmers, labourers or poor people, it is a party of big businessmen and industrialists," Hooda further added.
"If you ask BJP who their Haryana chief ministerial candidate is, they have no answer," he added.
Taking a dig at his rival and former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, Hooda asked, "Some people are saying that they will take oath as chief minister even from jail, then, I ask all of you, will the state assembly be also formed in a jail?"
On Friday, Hooda filed his nomination from Rohtak for the upcoming state assembly elections in Haryana scheduled to be held on October 15.
