China is building a runway on a reef in the disputed territory of South China Sea, according to satellite images.
The images show construction work on reclaimed land on Fiery Cross Reef in the Spratly Islands, reported the BBC.
The report said that the landmass could accommodate a runway around 3,000 meters long.
China claims almost the entire South China Sea followed by overlapping claims with other Asian countries including Vietnam and Philippines.
