The Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology has been closed for an indefinite period following a clash between two factions of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
The CUET Registrar, Faruque-Uz-Zaman, was quoted by Bangladesh's Daily Star as saying that the university authorities took the decision at an emergency meeting this morning and all students have been asked to vacate their dormitories today.
The clash occurred after an activist of the BCL, student wing of the ruling Awami League, was stabbed by supporters of a rival faction on the campus last night.
