Just a day after the sudden passing of her close friend Christina Grimmie, Selena Gomez has canceled her fan meet and greets scheduled to take place at her concert in Miami

After the news broke that 22-year-old Christina was gunned down at a Florida concert, the 'Must be Love' hit-maker took to her social media account to post a throwback picture of her with 'The Voice' finalist and captioned it as "My heart is absolutely broken. I miss you Christina," reports E! Online

Later, The 23-year-old grief-struck singer also shared a message from her stepfather and former manager of the You Tube star that read as "Words cannot begin to describe the pain I am feeling. I learned this business through the eyes of a father and Christina was like a second daughter to me. All I wanted to do was assist her in achieving her musical dreams while protecting her from the pitfalls associated with the business."

Grimmie, who came in third place during season six in 2014, was shot dead by an unidentified assailant at the concert.

While her brother Marcus Grimmie tackled the gunman as he opened fired, the suspect soon shot and killed himself.

Grimmie later succumbed to her wounds.

Though the motive for the shooting remains unclear, the police is still investigating the incident.
