Renowned Dutch cinematographer Robby Muller has died at the age of 78.
According to a Dutch publication, Het Parool, Muller had been suffering from vascular dementia for several years, reported Variety magazine.
Best known for his collaborations with film directors Wim Wenders and Jim Jarmusch, Muller worked as a cinematographer on a number of shorts before collaborating with Wenders on his first feature, Summer in the City (1970).
They went on to make many more films together such as Alice in the Cities (1974), Kings of the Road (1976), The American Friend (1977), and Paris, Texas (1984).
Apart from the movies with Wenders, Muller worked in mainstream US productions and independent films as well.
Born in Curacao, he studied at the Netherlands Film Academy.
