Senior BJP leader and former union finance minister Yashwant Sinha met civil society group - Concerned Citizens Group (CCG) on Friday and stressed on the importance of the civil societies in restoring peace in the valley.

Sinha stressed that all members of the committee are working as citizens and reiterated Prime Minister Modi's stance of 'Embracing Kashmiris'.

He said, "Peaceful dialogues are the only way forward in Kashmir," adding that the violence in the Valley is leading to the loss of a number of lives.

"The security forces in the state are losing their lives. So we must come up with a possible solution to put an end to this as soon as possible," he said.

Sinha also said that the committee is working as citizens of Kashmir in order to get a better understanding of the situation and said that any form of reforms take time.

"We are working as citizens. This is old pain which will not be improved so easily and early," he said

The delegation led by Sinha met opposition National Conference working president and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at his residence, here this morning.
