Australian captain Michael Clarke has admitted that the English team used the decision review system (DRS) better than his team which led to the team's agonizing defeat in the first Test.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Clarke said that his team has regained some respect with its gallant performance at Trent Bridge and has asked the players to hold their heads high

The report said that England used the DRS four times, for three successful reviews while Australia used it nine times, but were successful only twice.

England's approach was vindicated when Alastair Cook still had two reviews left when Jimmy Anderson's caught-behind appeal for Brad Haddin was turned down.

Clarke said that he could have used his reviews better and added that there are two umpires on the field, who are the most important people out on the ground, and they make their decisions and he has been brought up to live with the decision of umpires.
