CM Adityanath distributes cheques to Etah tragedy survivors

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday distributed cheques of financial assistance to the families of the victims in the deadly Etah mini truck accident.

A cheque of Rs. 2 lakh was given to 15 people whose family members died in the accident.

Rs. 50, 000 was given to 29 people who got serious injury in the accident and Rs 25,000 to 25 people who suffered minor injuries

As many as 14 people were killed and 28 people suffered injuries after a truck overturned near a roadside canal early on Friday in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district.

The accident took place at around 4:30 a.m when the truck, carrying a wedding party, was returning from Nagla Lal Singh in Jalesar area of Etah district.

The driver was allegedly in a drowsy state, following which he lost control of the vehicle, which then crashed through a railing and fell into a canal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the victims' next of kin.

Prime Minister Modi also announced Rs. 50,000 as ex-gratia for those injured in the accident.
