Fourteen Sri Lankan fishermen were arrested by the Indian Coast Guard on Wednesday in Tamil Nadu for fishing near Kanniyakumari.

The Lankan fishermen were interrogated and found with over 400 kilograms of fish in each boat.

The fishermen have been handed over to the Tamil Nadu Coastal Security Group at Thoothukudi for violating the 45-day fishing ban in the eastern coastal zone of Tamil Nadu which had been imposed for fish species' propagation as it is the fish breeding season.
