Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James Comey on Monday confirmed that the agency is probing the possible alleged involvement of the Russian Government in the 2016 U.S. election and whether there was any link between President Donald Trump's campaign and Moscow.
As per the New York Times, Comey said that though it is not usual for the F.B.I. to accept or deny the existence of any investigations, but in unusual circumstances it sometimes discuss the matter, especially when it is in the public interest.
Trump has been linked with Russia alleging that the latter helped him in the U.S. election campaign.
He has been continuously denying the charges saying that he has nothing to do with Russia and he does not know anyone from his campaign to be in contact with Russia.
