'Cold in July's Jim Mickle set to helm 'Esperanza'

'Cold in July' director Jim Mickle has been brought on board to helm Legendary's upcoming flick 'Esperanza.'

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the story of the film, which is based on a book by John N. Maclean with a script by Sean O'Keefe, is set in Southern California, and chronicles the life of firefighters battling the "perfect storm" of wildfires.

Mickle's 'Cold in July' was screened at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.
