The consul general of India in Brazil's Sao Paulo city, Vijay Chauhan, has released a collection of '100 Great Indian Poems' from over 3,000 years.
The anthology of poems, written in 28 languages, was released at an event organised at Indian Cultural Centre in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Friday.
The anthology, edited by Indian poet-diplomat Abhay K., has been translated into Portuguese for the first time and published by the University of Sao Paulo.
The anthology includes poems of Kalidas, Kabir, Lal Ded, Chokhamela, Andal, Mir, Ghalib, Tagore, Nirala among others.
On the occasion, Abhay K. said the collection for the first time has brought the treasures of Indian poetry written over three millennia ago and in so many languages to the Portuguese speaking world.
