The Colombo High Court has granted bail to former economic development minister Basil Rajapaksa, who was arrested
in connection with an alleged financial fraud at the Divi Neguma Department.
Rajapaksa, former Secretary of the Economic Development Ministry Nihal Jayathilake and former Divineguma Fund Director General R.R.K.
Ranawaka were arrested on April 22 by the Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) of Police, reported ColomboPage.com.
The court released them on Rs. 100,000 cash bail each with a surety of Rs. one million each.
The Divi Neguma Department was under the purview of the former economic development minister.
