Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Pankaj Pushkar on Saturday said it is completely appropriate for MLAs to demand a hike in their salary.

"It is completely inappropriate to demand salary hike. Various sections of the society are undergoing problems of different sorts.MLA office isn't supposed to be a coffee house," said AAP leader Pankaj Pushkar.

A delegation of 20 AAP legislators had yesterday met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demanding a hike in their salaries.

According to reports, the MLAs have cited problems in meeting expenses that include the cost of maintaining an office in their constituencies, transportation and running a household.
