A Los Angeles jury has rejected the 1.5 billion-dollar lawsuit which claimed that the promoter of Michael Jackson's comeback concerts, AEG Live, was responsible for the pop singer's death by hiring the doctor whose negligence killed him.

The lawsuit was brought by the late singer's mum, Katherine, and three kids, Fox News reported.

The panel of six men and six women returned their unanimous verdict on Wednesday after four days of deliberation and more than five months after the start of the billion-dollar wrongful death trial.

The panel decided that while the concert promoter did hire Dr. Conrad Murray, the King of Pop was responsible for his own death, as he kept his use of the anesthetic propofol a secret from AEG Live.
