Former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice may reportedly be a part of the selection committee that will pick the teams for the American College Football Playoff next year.

Rice and US business executive Darla Moore became the first two female members of the Augusta National Golf Club, home of the Masters, last year.

According to the Huffington Post, the committee, which is expected to comprise of current athletic directors and former college athletic administrators and coaches, will select the top four teams to play in national semifinals, the winners of which will play for the national championship.

The report mentioned that the College Playoffs would replace the Bowl Championship Series, which is in its final season after years of criticism and controversy.

The report mentioned that Rice, a self-confessed sports fan, had been a volunteer coach for a college golf team although she has never worked in college athletics.

Rice, who was the national security adviser during former US president George W. Bush's first term and became secretary of state in his second term, is now a professor of political economy at Stanford's Graduate School of Business.
