Metal is coming back to 59th Grammy Awards.

Legendary metal rock band Metallica has been invited to perform at the prestigious music awards.

Metallica took to their official Instagram account to confirm the big news.

The band posted one official brand logo of the Grammy Awards and captioned it as, "We're thrilled that we have been invited to perform on the 59th annual ?#GRAMMYs? telecast on Sunday, February 12, 2017!"

Further confirming the big news, the metal rock band said in an official statement, "It's been three years since we were lucky enough to participate in the awards show when we last performed with world-renowned Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang and we're thrilled to be asked back."

"We have something very unique and special planned for this celebratory night, so tune in to watch on CBS-TV... check those local listings for your timezone and keep watching here for more information."

The band also is nominated for the 'Best Rock Song' category at the 59th annual event for their track 'Hardwired' taken from last year's comeback record 'Hardwired... To Self Destruct'.

This will be the fourth time Metallica will take over the Grammys' stage.

Metallica haven't been to the Grammys since 1992 when they won Best Metal Performance for 'The Black Album'.
