The Congress on Sunday said politicos who are thinking of taking action against Janata Dal (United) veteran Sharad Yadav should introspect.
Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said that Yadav stood by his beliefs and principles whereas Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar got buoyed by power.
"Sharad Yadav was one of the founding members of JD(U). Sharad Yadav has let go power and is standing by his beliefs and principles. Those who are attacking Sharad Yadav should introspect," said Surjewala.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Jha said Yadav took a decision which safeguards value of the constitution.
"Sharad Yadav took the decision to save the nation and the constitution and Nitish Kumar has joined hands with a political party which believes in violence," Jha said.
Nitish Kumar on Saturday hinted action against Yadav if he attends RJD chief Lalu Prasad's rally on August 27.
JD (U) leader KC Tyagi had said that the party has not acted against Yadav for his "anti-party activities" because of his seniority and long association with the party.
"If he (Sharad Yadav) attends RJD chief Lalu Prasad's rally here on August 27, he will cross the Lakshman Rekha," he said.
