The Congress Party on Sunday accused the NDA-Government of diluting the one rank one pension (OROP) scheme, saying the implemented scheme excludes more than 46 percent of them.

"They have diluted the one rank one pension (OROP) scheme, it is unfortunate that they (government) have excluded 46 percent of the ex-servicemen from this scheme," Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad told ANI.
"The UPA allotted 500 crores to the ex-servicemen OROP demand but this government have not implemented that scheme. It is very unfortunate that the government is doing politics with the war veterans," he added.
On Saturday, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar announced that the government has decided to implement the much awaited OROP scheme and its benefit would be given to all ex-servicemen, excluding voluntary retirees from July 1, 2014.
