Congress workers staged a protest here on Tuesday against senior journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik over the issue of his meeting with 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed.
Not only did they criticise Vaidik and Saeed, but also Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The protesters marched through the streets with party flags shouting anti-Vaidik, Saeed and Modi slogans, and also burnt Vaidik's effigy.
Describing Vaidik as a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) agent, one of the protestors said, "The citizens of India are shocked over Vaidik's meeting with Hafiz Saeed, a person who was responsible for 26/11 attack which killed about 166 people and injured over 300."
He also said that Vaidik went their as Modi's agent to change Saeed's views about India.
"Vaidik said that he went to change Saeed's views about India. We want to ask Modi that who gave him this right and will the citizens of India forgive him. We appeal to the Government of India to arrest him on charges of being a traitor," he added.
Vaidik has been facing criticism from the opposition over his meeting with Saeed on July 2 in Lahore, Pakistan, after his pictures with the Pakistani Islamist leader was seen in social media.
Vaidik has openly accepted that he had met Hafiz Saeed and said that he is ready to share all records of his meetings in Pakistan.
Not only the meeting with Hafiz Saeed, but his statement in Pakistan on Kashmir has fuelled criticism. However, he later clarified to ANI that he meant about freedom for the people of Kashmir and not 'freedom for Kashmir'.
