The Congress Party on Tuesday asked the BJP-led NDA Government to present an amended copy of the

Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill before it calls a special session of the Parliament.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, made the opposition's stand very clear ahead of the government's plan to call a special session.

"If the NDA Government calls a special session, they should send a copy of the new bill to us. We want to see what are the new provisions added, what are the proposal accepted by them, which were suggested by the opposition parties," said Kharge.

"The government should circulate the bill first then only Congress party can say what its stand is," said Kharge.

According to reports, the NDA Government is considering either calling a special session or extending the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament as part of a plan to pass the constitutional amendment bill that will allow the introduction of the GST.
