Congress leader Sanjay Singh's son Anant Vikram Singh on Sunday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here in the presence of the Uttar Pradesh BJP president Laxmikant Bajpai.
Anant, who hails from the the royal family of Amethi, is currently engaged in a property dispute with his father.
This development is being seen as a coup for the BJP in what is a political stronghold of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi
According to reports, Anant's elder sister Mahima is also expected to join the BJP from California.
