Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, on Monday expressed his anger over the suspension of 25 MPs from the Parliament and said that it was against the law.

"Protesting in the Parliament, holding placards is not something new. This has been happening regularly and, therefore, our party should not solely be held responsible for the disruptions," Kharge told the media here.

"I am saddened to say that when we tried to expose their ministers involved in the (Lalit) Modi Gate, our attempts were quashed. We were told that no FIR was registered against them so no action could be taken," he added.

Kharge accused the BJP Government of having double standards and said that it was following on the 'Gujarat Model'.

The Congress leader further said that the all-party meeting was a feeble event where no hardcore matters were raised.

"The government only seems to be thriving on mudslinging at the opposition rather than finding a solution," he said.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today suspended 25 MPs for disturbing proceedings.

According to reports, Mahajan suspended them under ruling 374 (A).

The lawmakers, who have been suspended, include Gaurav Gogoi, Sushmita Dev,Deepender Hooda, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury,BN Chandrappa, Abhijit Mukherjee, Santokh Chaudhary,Abu Hasem Khan Choudhury, R Dhruvanarayana, Ninong Ering, BV Nayak and Suresh Kodikunnil.
