The Congress Party on Tuesday condemned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for being "drunk with power" after one of its leaders stalled an ambulance which led to the death of a patient in Haryana's Fatehabad.

Speaking to ANI here, Congress leader Sharmistha Mukherjee said, "They (BJP) are drunk with power and they can do anything. It is extremely insensitive on his part to get into an argument with that ambulance in which there was a patient."

Alleging that this is not BJP-raj, but the 'jungle raj' , Mukherjee stated that the BJP leaders and workers are doing whatever they want without taking any kind of consideration for anybody else including a patient, who died because of this delay.

A Haryana BJP leader has been accused of holding up an ambulance in Haryana's Fatehabad causing death of the patient being taken for treatment.

BJP leader Darshan Nagpal allegedly stopped an ambulance after it hit his vehicle for half an hour.

According to reports, patient's relatives said soon after the ambulance hit BJP leader's car, he gave a chase and intercepted it which caused a delay in patient's treatment. Nagpal allegedly got into an argument with the driver and family members and also took away the ambulance keys.

This is the second blow to BJP in Haryana.

Earlier this week, Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala landed in soup after his son got arrested for stalking the daughter of an IAS officer in Chandigarh.
