The Congress Party on Tuesday staged a protest here against what it termed the deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal.
All state party leaders and workers were present during protest.
"The purpose of this protest is that there is no law and order in the state of West Bengal. We have come here to oppose this anarchism which is prevailing in the state," Congress Member of Parliament Pradeep Bhattacharya told ANI.
West Bengal Police had last night arrested a local Trinamool Congress leader on allegations of committing several murders and anti social activities.
Sarjen Sekh, TMC leader of the Kaliachok Block in West Bengal's Madla District, was picked up from his house by the district police.
