Congress Party workers staged a protest against Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia here on Friday and demanded his arrest.

The police took the protesters into preventive custody.

Earlier in the day, Majithia had appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after the agency summoned the Punjab Minister based on the statements of alleged drug dealer Jagdish Bhola and local politician Bittu Aulakh. The two have claimed that Majithia was involved in the narcotics trade.

Majithia has denied the charges.
