The Congress Party has made it clear that it would be cornering the Centre on a number of issues during the winter session of Parliament which is scheduled to start from November 16.

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge told ANI, "There are many issues that at looming at the moment like Jammu and Kashmir, One Rank One Pension (OROP), the Modi government's foreign policy approach towards Pakistan, China's wrongdoings at the border and others where the central government has failed. These all will be debated in parliament. Other parties will put issues according to their strategy."

The winter session of Parliament will end on December 16.

The winter session usually starts in the third or fourth week of November, but has been advanced this time to achieve the government's ambitious target of rolling out the goods and services tax - a uniform indirect tax regime that will subsume all central and local levies such as excise, octroi and value added tax - from April 1 next year.
