The Congress party on Wednesday attacked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the appointment of Swati Maliwal as the new Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief, asking how could he appoint someone who is the wife of an AAP leader.
"I want to ask Mr Kejriwal, is he the same person who in January 2014 had said that Barkha Singh won't be impartial because she belongs to the Congress party. How come today you appointed a person who is the wife of your Haryana faction leader?" said Congress leader Ajay Maken.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has appointed party leader Swati Maliwal as the new chief of the DCW.
Maliwa, would be replacing Barkha Shukla, whose tenure ends later this week.
