Connecting PM's visit to J-K with today's events 'incorrect': BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said that connecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jammu and Kashmir with the waving of Pakistani and ISIS flags in Srinagar would not be correct, adding that such anti-national activities will not be tolerated.

"Trying to connect Prime Minister's visit to J-K yesterday and the events of today is incorrect. Whoever breaks the law, by showing such flags and other things, action has been taken against them and will continue to do so," BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli told ANI.

"These things are unacceptable and they are not going to be tolerated. These are anti-national things, actions against such people are taken, they are apprehended, it will continue to happen," he added.

The flags of Pakistan and ISIS were waived in Srinagar today during the protest over the house arrest of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

According to reports, Geelani was not allowed to offer prayers in a mosque on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr as he remained under house arrest since his return from New Delhi on April 15.
