After guiding his side to a commanding Test series win against Sri Lanka, England skipper Alastair Cook has admitted that his side are fully ready for the upcoming challenge of facing Pakistan.

Although England failed to complete a whitewash against Lanka, they had already done enough to secure a 2-0 series win following their dominant victories at Leeds and Chester-le-Street.

England have managed to claim Test series victory against every major international teams except Pakistan, who defeated the Cook-led side 1-2 in a three-match series in the UAE in November last year.

Despite that Cook believes that his side have a great chance to create history in the next month's Test series against Pakistan.

Expressing his views on the Pakistan team, the 31-year-old, who recently became the youngest player and first England batsman to reach 10,000-run milestone in Tests, admitted that the oppositions have got an extremely good pace attack, which is backed up with good spinners, Sport24 reported.

The opener, however, pointed out that England performed extremely well against Australia at home and therefore, is looking forward to a brilliant series ahead.

England will play four Tests, five ODIs and one-off T20 match against Pakistan, starting from July 14 at the Lord's.
