New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson has reportedly set a low base price at just under 200,000 dollars for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, where he is expected to be one of the most sought-after players.
After his world-record 36-ball century against West Indies on January 1 and his batting assaults in the first two ODIs against India, Anderson, who is one of the 18 New Zealanders to put his name forward for the auction on February 12 and 13, would have impressed plenty of team owners and coaches.
According to Stuff.co.nz, Anderson set his reserve at 10 million rupees, the starting point from which teams will bid for his services, with players putting their names forward for the auction and setting their own base price.
Meanwhile, the report mentioned that IPL regulars Brendon McCullum and Ross Taylor are the only New Zealanders to set their reserve at the maximum of R20 million (387,000 dollars), along with the likes of Michael Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Kevin Pietersen, Jacques Kallis and Mahela Jayawardene.
Jesse Ryder, Nathan McCullum and Kyle Mills have set their reserve at the same as Anderson, while the rest of the New Zealanders up for auction are at a base price of R3 million to R 5 million (about 60,000-100,000 dollars).
They are Neil Broom, Grant Elliott, James Franklin, Martin Guptill, Mitchell McClenaghan, Adam Milne, Colin Munro, Jimmy Neesham, Jacob Oram, Luke Ronchi, Hamish Rutherford and Tim Southee, the report added.
