Cricket Australia confirmed that it is planning to pay tributes to late batsman Phillip Hughes on his first death anniversary during the third Test against New Zealand in Adelaide.

Hughes succumbed to injuries on November 25 last year after being struck by a bouncer during a domestic match in Sydney. The 25-year-old South Australian batsman was knocked out after the ball made impact under his helmet, on the back of the neck.

According to Sydney Morning Herald, a CA spokesman said that they were currently working with the team to arrange the most appropriate tribute for Hughes on the first day of the Adelaide Test.

Earlier this year, CA chief executive James Sutherland had said a review would be made in order to avoid a tragedy like that to occur again on a cricket field.

The review will primarily look into the causes and circumstances which led to the player's death and the potential use of protective equipment which could protect a player's head and heart.
