A Central Reserve Police Force personnel who escaped the ghastly Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir was seen in a video feeding a paralytic child by the side of the street in Srinagar. The official has since been commended for his compassionate act.

The video of the incident was shared by the CRPF on Tuesday and was circulated widely on social media.

The CRPF man Iqbal Singh said he was having lunch during duty and spotted the boy. On finding him hungry, Singh said he decided to give his food to him.

"I am posted in Nawakada area of downtown Srinagar. During lunch time I offered my lunch to a boy across the street, being specially-abled he was unable to eat hence I fed him with my hands," said Singh.

In the video, the Sikh CRPF personnel can be seen feeding the boy with his hands. He wipes the child's face and gives him water to drink.

Director General CRPF announced to reward Iqbal Singh, CRPF driver (Head Constable) with Disc and Commendation certificate.

Iqbal Singh was given a commendation certificate for the "humane and selfless act", the CRPF said. "Valour and compassion are two sides of the same coin, the CRPF posted on Twitter.

Singh had played a crucial role in saving the lives of many CRPF personnel injured in the attack on the CRPF convoy by Jaish-e-Mohammad, in which 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives in Pulwama district on February 14.
