Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla is hosting a ten day theatre festival to celebrate the folk culture and tradition of the state. The fest organised by the Department of Language, Art and Culture of Himachal Pradesh provides a platform to aspiring artists.
The performances are taking place at the historic-130-year old Gaiety Theatre on the Mall in the city.
The fest began on May 5 and is drawing of locals and tourists.
Artists and folk culture from all twelve districts have been brought onto a single platform.
"Through this platform we wish to preserve and promote our culture and provide opportunity to our young artists to showcase their talent," said an artist. .
