In Jammu and Kashmir, the curfew will continue in Anantnag town while restrictions under Section 144 will remain in force in Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian districts today.
Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) of 1973 empowers a magistrate to prohibit an assembly of more than ten people in an area.
Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar Dr. Farooq Lone said that curfew-like restrictions under Section 144 will continue in areas under five old city police stations and areas under Batmaloo and Maisuma police stations of up-town Srinagar.
DIG Police North Kashmir Uttam Chand said there will be no curfew or restrictions in North Kashmir districts.
The valley has been under boil ever since Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter by the security forces on July 8.
