The Red Pen, an independent education consulting company announced that it has been appointed as the in-house guidance counsellor for D Y Patil International School, Worli.
D Y Patil International School, Worli saw the need to build a more robust, internal team to manage their school profile, students' applications and provide services such as unique enrichment programs and test preparation courses in school.
In addition to managing the application process and components such as transcripts and letters of recommendation, The Red Pen will also bring the college admission perspective to curriculum development/subject selection, suggest resources for learning and networking, help the school engage with admissions representatives from global universities and represent the school at education conferences.
"The D Y Patil International School is committed to provide its students world-class opportunities and is making continual efforts to support its students personal, social, and educational development through a wide range of innovative programs designed specifically for each of these areas. We are pleased to partner with The Red Pen as they provide educational counselling services to our students. We are confident that the experience and expertise of The Red Pen will substantially benefit our students to shape their future," said Dr. Ajeenkya D Y Patil, D Y Patil Group Chairman.
A dedicated and experienced counsellor from The Red Pen has been assigned to the school; a graduate of the University of Virginia, with a master's degree in education and focus on higher education administration, she has been advising students for over six years, which includes her experience supporting international students at the University of Virginia.
"We look forward to helping D Y Patil International School, Worli, build a flexible, student-centered in-house counselling department. A fully developed in-house counselling department can make the higher education application process more efficient, build transparency and allow global university admissions teams to better understand the context of the student's application, which is critical in the admissions process. I saw this first-hand when I established the counselling department at another leading IB school in Mumbai. As global education opportunities expand, building relationships with university admissions officers is an important step in building a strong reputation," said Namita Mehta, partner at The Red Pen.
