Women activist Annie Raja has said that the incident of a Dalit woman being beaten, stripped and forced to consume urine in Chhatarpur District, Madhya Pradesh, last month is very common in the state and most objectionable.
"There is nothing new about this, because, in MP, such cases are very common. This is absolutely objectionable. This cannot be tolerated by the people of this country, and I hope, that the legal fraternity will take note of this incident and will take action on this". Raja told ANI
The All India Mahila Congress president Shobha Oza said there is no fear of law in Madhya Pradesh and the government is insensitive towards women.
"The MP Government is so insensitive towards women that such incidents occur and reoccur. We have seen these kinds of incidents happening earlier also. There is no fear of the law in MP," Oza added.
"This is a very serious matter that women are being used to settle personal enmity scores," lawyer Abha Singh told ANI.
