England bowling coach David Saker will reportedly stay on at his post until the end of the 2015 summer, giving the summer Ashes champions a significant boost following their arrival in Australia for the winter series.

Saker, who was responsible for the success of his side's bowlers in the summer Ashes, has been eyed by other teams, including Australia, which later appointed Craig McDermott, although he will continue in his current role after negotiations with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

According to The Guardian, ECB managing director Hugh Morris confirmed Saker's decision, saying that Saker has worked with and developed an outstanding bowling unit for England which has been key to winning two successive Ashes series, winning a global event and climbing to No1 in the world.

Morris further said that Saker has committed himself to the team until the end of the 2015 summer, which includes two Ashes series, an ICC World T20 in Bangladesh, a home campaign against India and the ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Saker also expressed satisfaction with his decision, saying that he has been privileged to have been involved in some memorable moments for English cricket and to work with some outstanding cricketers, adding that he is looking forward to another exciting period starting with the immediate challenge of retaining the Ashes.

Saker joined England in 2010, succeeding Ottis Gibson, having impressed not only with outstanding credentials as a player with Victoria and Tasmania, but also as coach with Victoria again, and Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League, the report added.
