A Delhi Court on Saturday adjourned the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) defamation case against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad till April 18.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court asked Kejriwal and the suspended BJP MP to file written statements in a civil defamation suit filed against them by the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA).

The DDCA had earlier filed defamation suits seeking Rs 2.5 crore damages from both of them for making defamatory statements about the cricketing body.

The DDCA's legal counsel had reportedly claimed, that allegations regarding financial irregularities and corruption in selections at the junior level were "maligning the image" of the cricket body.

Kejriwal is also facing a criminal defamation case filed against him and five other AAP leaders by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for allegedly defaming him in the Delhi and District Cricket Board (DDCA) controversy.

Jaitley has reportedly sought damages of Rs. 10 crore from them.
