It was deja vu for Brad Haddin when Australia lost in a close match to England yesterday because he had been in the dressing room at Edgbaston in 2005, when Michael Kasprowicz got out and Australia lost the Test by just two runs.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Haddin was not playing in the match but was on the tour and eight years later, his Hot Spot image was on the replays screen at Trent Bridge and 17,500 people had been staring at it, searching for a white smudge on his bat.

The report said that Jimmy Anderson had not heard an edge but captain Alastair Cook and wicketkeeper Matt Prior had, after which Haddin's fate was sealed by third umpire Marais Erasmus when England made a review.

Michael Clarke said about Haddin that it was great to see him fight his way back into the team and while Australians would have hoped for a better result, there could not be any better Test matches than this.
