The first TBM on the Janakpuri West-Palam underground stretch on the under construction Janakpuri West - Botanical Garden Metro corridor of Phase 3 started its initial drive today.
This tunneling drive will be from Janakpuri West to Dabri and its distance will be 1.2 kilometres.
This TBM will finish the drive in approximately five months and emerge at Dabri in May next year. A total of four TBMs will be used for the tunneling of approximately 4.2 kilometres from Janakpuri West to Palam.
Presently a total of nine TBMs are operational in Phase 3. Another TBM had started its drive at Hazrat Nizamuddin on the Mukundpur - Shiv Vihar corridor on the 16th of December earlier this week.
