The focus from the third and final Test match between India and Sri Lanka being played at the Feroz Shah Kotla shifted to worsened air quality of the national capital when the Lankan players were seen wearing masks during the game.
The poor air quality of Delhi also disrupted the game briefly for multiple times.
Sri Lanka's fielders came out wearing face masks post the lunch session and conveyed to the umpires about the difficulty they were having in smoggy conditions.
Also, fast bowlers Suranga Lakmal and Lahiru Gamage were seen walking off the field, with one ball still left after they allegedly expressed displeasure in bowling in such conditions.
The Test match converted into a drama scene when the impasse called Sri Lankan coach Nic Pothas, manager Asanka Gurusinha and India coach Ravi Shastri on the field.
India eventually declared the innings for 536/7.
