The 'minions' have clinched the top-spot at US Box-Office.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, 'Despicable Me 3' ruled the July Fourth holiday box office in the US with 75.4 million USD opening.
The third part came in notably behind expectations for Universal and Illumination Entertainment. Heading into the weekend, most had expected it to rake in 85 million USD to 90 million USD.
Even late Friday, box-office analysts had the movie earning north of 80 million USD, but traffic slowed dramatically on Saturday for many films.
Gru and his minions are doing a better business overseas, where 'Despicable Me 3' earned 95.6 million USD from 52 markets for a No. 1 finish and foreign total of 116.9 million USD, taking the global tally to 192.3 million USD.
Meanwhile, Edgar Wright's 'Baby Driver' rode to a five-day debut of 30 million USD from 3,226 theaters after opening Wednesday.
"It is great to see a non-IP film breakthrough this summer. It is a shot in the arm for anyone who supports original filmmaking," said Sony worldwide president of marketing and distribution Josh Greenstein.
The critically acclaimed heist thriller stars Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Jon Hamm, Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx in pivotal roles.
