After the Supreme Court advised an amicable settlement on the Ayodhya dispute, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Tuesday asserted that the Dharma Sansad and other parties concerned would decide on it and not them.
"The Ayodhya dispute will be decided by the Dharma Sansad and all the other parties involved as they are the people who started this Ram Janma Bhumi movement and not us," RSS leader Dattatreya Hosable told ANI.
Commenting on the prolonged issue, Hosable further stated that he hopes this time there will be a conclusion to it.
"I hope this issue will be solved at its earliest and will not be prolonged anymore. It's time the Supreme Court decided. A grand Ram temple should be erected soon with the total involvement of all Indians," said Hosable.
Earlier in the day, the apex court said the Ayodhya dispute was a sensitive and sentimental issue, adding it was best that this matter was settled amicably.
The court was hearing a plea of BJP leader Subramanian Swamy today seeking urgent hearing of Ayodhya dispute in the apex court.
The court asked parties concerned to sit together to arrive at a consensus and asked Swamy to consult the parties and inform it about the decision on March 31.
The court also suggested if required, a principal mediator could be chosen by the court for settling the issue. Chief Justice J.S. Khehar said if the parties wanted him to mediate, then he was ready for the task.
