Hence, here are some interesting facts about the big night of the world film fraternity, which might grab the Oscars buff's eyeballs.

• Emil Jannings was named the first 'Best Actor' for 'The Last Command' and 'The Way of All Flesh' in 1929.

• At the age of just 10, Tatum O'Neal won 'Best Supporting Actress' for 'Paper Moon' in 1973, which made her the youngest Oscar winner.

• Christopher Plummer was the oldest Oscar winner. At the age of 82, he won 'Best Actor in a Supporting Role' for 'Beginners' in 2012.

• 1959's 'Ben-Hur', 1997's 'Titanic' and 2003's 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' had most wins for a single film, with 11 Academy Awards each.

• Walt Disney won 22 Academy Awards, which made him most wins by an individual.

• Katharine Hepburn, is one actress, who won most Academy Awards- four Golden Statuettes.

• Daniel Day-Lewis, Jack Nicholson and Walter Brennan, are the actors who won most Oscars- each won three Golden Statuettes.

• 3048 Oscar statues have been given out since it started in the year 1929.

• Each statue weighs 3.8kg.

• The statues are made of solid bronze and are plated in 24-karat gold.
