Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Wednesday said that he never doubted Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's integrity, adding that he was only 'doubting his competence'.

"I am not doubting the integrity of Mr. Arun Jaitley but doubting his competence. If he could not control irregularities in a small organisation like DDCA, how will he control it in the Finance Ministry?" Singh said.

He further said that he was not surprised with the suspension of BJP MP Kirti Azad, saying 'the party is against all those who fight against corruption'.

"They suspended R Jethmalani, Kirti Azad, next on the list is Shatrughan Sinha. They don't like people who question them on corruption," he added.

Earlier, the Congress leader took a jibe at the BJP asking if that is going to be the fate of all those who raise the issue of corruption.

"Kirti Azad suspended by BJP. His crime? Raised issue of corruption in DDCA with facts," Singh wrote on Twitter.

In another tweet, he asked if another party MP, Shatrughan Sinha, was the next in the firing line.

"Is this going to be the fate of all those in the BJP who raise issue of corruption? First Ram Jethmalani and now Kirti. Next Shatrughan Sinha?" Singh said.

The BJP on Wednesday suspended its MP from Darbhanga, Kirti Azad, for what it called anti-party activities.

The cricketer-turned-politician has been raising the issue of rampant corruption in the DDCA including the period when Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, was the president of the cricket body.

Azad was reportedly persuaded by the BJP chief Amit Shah to not go ahead with his much-publicised expose on Sunday, when he released a video of a DDCA AGM held in 2012, where he was seen accusing Jaitley of forging documents.
